Air Conditioning for Central Maine
Comfort Through
Maine Summers
Good cooling is steady, quiet, and properly sized. RG Mechanical installs central air and ductless systems and repairs cooling equipment when comfort drops off.
Choose a Cooling Service
Central air makes use of a duct system to deliver even cooling across a home. Ductless mini-splits handle rooms or zones independently and can also provide heat. When existing equipment has trouble, we diagnose the cause before discussing repair or replacement.
Cooling FAQ
Is central air or a mini-split better for my home?
Central air can be a good fit when a home already has usable ductwork. Mini-splits avoid ducts and provide individual zone control. The best choice comes down to the building, existing equipment, and the rooms that need cooling.
Why is my air conditioner running but not cooling?
Restricted airflow, a dirty coil, an electrical failure, or a refrigerant problem can all cause poor cooling. Shut the system down if it is icing heavily and arrange service rather than continuing to run it.
When should cooling equipment be serviced?
Spring service allows time to clean, inspect, and test equipment before the hottest weather. Filters and outdoor equipment should also be kept clear during the cooling season.
